So this past Saturday we celebrated Badmutha’s 26th Year Anniversary with a full day/night of Beachness, Bonfireness, Smoreness, Sandness, and more Fireness (I had a lot of fun with the lighter fluid and whatever I found that I could burn). The water was super calm and warm which was perfect for swimming even at night. The whole day/night was perfect.
It was really simple and fun times with friends. Bonfire anyday everyday.

So, my co-worker told me about this Hiking Trail/Lookout (Top of the World) by my place (map). I’ve been wanting to check it out and finally did this past weekend.
It’s actually called Baldwin Hills Lookout. It’s soooo close to where I live, I woulda walked there but biking is funner. There are 3 ways to get up to the lookout: the road, trail, and these ridiculous 12 inch steps. I walked up the road the first day and went back the next day to do the steps.

So I’ve been biking to Venice Beach, with Heffies in tow, every Sunday for the past 3 weeks to simply catch the sunset. However, today was Tuesday and at 4pm I noticed the Grey has stripped from the sky and finally the Sun has come out to play again!!! So one spontaneous and much needed decision was made, a joy ride and run to Venice Beach for another Simple Human Day (without the Heffies).
Departed: 5:06pm
Arrived: 5:24pm
18 minutes for a 4.6 miles ride???? I wish I could run as fast as I ride. Once a upon a time my 2 miles were clocked in at 13ish minutes (military days)

One of the many things I love about California Beaches are…
- The Vendors and the pedestrian traffic. Might be a bit of a mess and a bit too close to the ocean but, this is LA and I like it.
- The Arts
- The Bums
- The Ghetto Seagulls
- People Watch. Well…HELLLLLO CUTENESS
- And lastly, The Beach
Nothing beats the beaches in Hawaii but again, this is LA and I got here by foot. I am blessed.

A Simple Human is someone who appreciates life for what it is. It is when we put our Super Human abilities (for the benefit of the world or for our own personal benefits) aside and enjoy the simplest things in life . The Sun, the Moon, the Ocean, the Mountains, the Stars, the Air, and our Friends, Family, and Pets…all of these things we have in our lives are mostly taken advantage of. Why? Because we’re always in Super Human mode. Always stressin about “this” and then we “gotta do that” just to make this world and our lives better.
I’m not saying be ignorantly happy or sit your ass at home and do nothing…what I’m saying is that there’s time for everything. We don’t always have to be “in the know” or “on the go”, have the latest shoe trend, worry about same sex marriage, or do our part to save the world. CHILLAX! We humans forget to BREATHE (surprising isn’t it?). Just take a minute and…LIVE. Just don’t do it all day and everyday!
Also, we shouldn’t forget to count our blessings. It’s very humbling to realize that we might not have it as bad after all.
Be simple. Be human.
ANYWAY, I really don’t know if I made sense up there so, if you have any questions, simply reply and I’ll try to elaborate. I’m not expecting to have my blogs to be published as a book any time soon so, the thought of editing is nonsense.
