Prahjeks (gold drop crotch pants) is up on U.P. (The Uniform Project) “Golden Goodbye to the Noughties“!!!
The Uniform Project is known to be this year’s (2009-2010) most sustainable and humane fashion project. They were also nominated for 2009 People’s Design Award.
The idea basically goes like this. To wear 1 dress for the whole year (I’m day #245). Well, 7 identical dresses but of the same design. They (Sheena – mastermind and Eliza – dressmaker) would recreate the look by accessorizing and adding layers to the dress. Cool huh? HOWEVER, the most cool thing about this project is the Akanksha Foundation fundraiser. “At the end of the year, all contributions will go toward Akanksha’s School Project to fund uniforms and other educational expenses for children living in Indian slums.” DOUBLE WORD UP POINTS!
I’m so happy and proud to partake in this project. Cheers to TwentyTen!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Well, guess what? Word Up to Marc Jacobs (who has been sporting kilts lately) for inspiring H&M to create their own. I personally cannot wait for these kilts to hit the stores!

Prahjek: Summer Tuxedo
This used to be a Long Sleeved Cream Tuxedo Jacket that I turned to a Short Sleeved Tuxedo Jacket. Thrifted from my favorite thrift store in Downtown Culver…for $5.00…yup!.
It took me about 2 hours because I had to cut the arms to the length I want and HAND sew them (including the lining) so that the seam won’t show.
Very pleased.
Voila!

Damn, it’s been a while since I last posted a Prahjek blog. It’s just that, it’s just been so beautiful outside and I can’t help myself but to enjoy the SUN.
BUT, I need to buckle down a weekend and just focus on my “Unfinished” Prahjeks. Ugh, I hate having incompleted garments laying around.

Ahhhh success! Too bad it was a Sunday and it was only for 2 hours :( but, it was an amazing bday nonetheless! Gracing the ice with friends in their…supposedly ice gear made it a perfect birthday!
Part II coming up (text msgs: sent, email and evite: pending). Decided to extend my bday throughout the week vs weekend. Why? Cuz, I want to.
